The Leggio Pre-Departure Preparation Programme is designed to help international workers prepare for life and work in Malta before they travel.
The programme prepares participants for Malta's mandatory Government Pre-Departure Course and English interview. It does not replace the official Government course. Instead, it helps learners understand the topics they are likely to encounter, build confidence in English, understand Maltese workplace expectations and practise common situations through practical activities.
Participants learn about Malta, everyday life, accommodation, public transport, banking, healthcare, employment contracts, working hours, salaries and payslips, employee rights and responsibilities, workplace safety, professional behaviour and English communication.
The programme also includes role plays, quizzes, practice assessments, mock interviews and individual feedback. The teaching approach uses simple English, real-life examples, visual learning and interactive activities, making the programme particularly suitable for learners with A2–B1 English who may have limited experience with international migration or online learning.
By the end of the programme, participants should feel better prepared to understand the official Pre-Departure process, communicate in simple English, recognise their responsibilities as workers and approach their English interview with greater confidence.
Participants receive a Leggio Certificate of Completion after completing the programme.
Important: This is an independent Leggio preparation programme. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or delivered on behalf of the Government of Malta or any Maltese public authority. Completion does not replace the official Government Pre-Departure Course, guarantee success in the official assessment or interview, or guarantee approval of a work permit or visa application.
