Build Practical Cybersecurity Skills for the Real World

The Leggio General Cybersecurity Skill Course is an intensive eight-week, mentor-led programme designed to help aspiring cybersecurity professionals develop the practical knowledge, technical skills and analytical mindset required to begin a career in cybersecurity.

Instead of focusing exclusively on theory or certification preparation, the programme is built around hands-on experience, real-world problem solving and portfolio development. Students investigate simulated attacks, analyse network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, investigate security alerts, respond to incidents and document their findings using professional cybersecurity practices.

The programme begins with cybersecurity foundations, Linux and networking before progressing into phishing and social engineering, vulnerability assessment, ethical hacking, Security Operations Centre practices, SIEM and threat detection. Students then explore incident response, GDPR and data protection, cloud security and modern attack surfaces before completing an end-to-end cybersecurity capstone.

Throughout the eight weeks, every practical exercise contributes to a professional cybersecurity portfolio. Students graduate with investigation reports, network analysis, vulnerability assessments, SIEM investigations, incident response documentation, cloud security assessments and a final capstone investigation that can be discussed during job interviews.

The course also provides alignment with internationally recognised entry-level certifications including CompTIA Security+ and ISC² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), while maintaining a practical, employment-focused approach rather than concentrating solely on examination preparation.

By the end of the programme, students should be able to demonstrate practical cybersecurity competencies, communicate technical findings professionally and confidently discuss their work with potential employers.
